The Intellipanel performs a controlled start up and shut down of the peripherals. When you start up your computer the Intellipanel waits 5 seconds before powering up the peripherals. When you turn the computer off the Intellipanel waits 5 seconds after the computer switches off before it cuts power to the peripherals. It does this because there are some devices that perform their own shutdown operations when they loose connection to the computer. Waiting 5 seconds allows the peripherals to shutdown properly if they need to.
